ABOUT STEPH

Steph is an Irish dog trainer and canine behaviour consultant based in Dublin. She has been working with dogs since 2013, initially in London and more recently in Dublin. During this time, she has worked with hundreds of puppies, and adult dogs with behavioural issues.

​

In 2019 her first book, ‘Office Dogs: The Manual’ was published by Hubble & Hattie, and has subsequently been published internationally and multi-lingually. In the same year, she founded Happy Office Dogs, providing support and resources to dog-friendly workplaces.

​

In 2022, her second book, 'How to Raise a Puppy: A Dog-Centric Approach', co-authored with the inimitable Turid Rugaas, was published. This has also been published internationally and multi-lingually. You can order your copy here.

She is a full member of the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe (PDTE), and sat on its board for 3 years from 2017-2020. She is currently Ireland’s country representative for the PDTE.

​

She has appeared on Irish television and radio, as well as on radio stations and podcasts around the world. She has spoken internationally on a range of dog-related topics, and is passionate about education as a means of improving canine welfare.

​

She has completed Turid Rugaas's International Dog Trainers' Education and counts Rugaas's methods and ethos amongst her strongest influences. Steph is committed to continuing professional development and has attended courses with Anne-Lill Kvam, Amber Batson and others in recent years. She also holds a certificate in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour.

Steph teaches at the Nordic Education Centre for Dog Trainers.

​

Her non-dog related qualifications include an honours degree from Trinity College Dublin, where she held a Foundation Scholarship, and an MPhil from Cambridge University.
